I reconstruct its main provisions and identify its “metaphysical” and “sociological” aspects. BY PUBLISHING the article “The Use of Nuclear Weapons Could Protect Humanity from a Global Catastrophe”1 just under a year ago, I, along with some colleagues, helped initiate a global discussion2 on the role of nuclear weapons in preventing global war.
