Russian President Vladimir Putin began a meeting on economic issues on Tuesday [April 14] by proposing to evaluate the new economic trends that have emerged because of the coronavirus pandemic. Russia’s economic situation is currently not all that rosy. After panic purchases of food and essential goods, Russians are switching to austerity [consumer habits], according to business surveys. That is not surprising: Many citizens expect either to lose their job or take a pay cut this year.
Around 5 p.m. on June 11, Internal Affairs Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev announced that the criminal charges against Meduza correspondent Ivan Golunov have been dropped “due to lack of evidence of his involvement in the commission of a crime.”

Xinhua: China creates national administration of disease prevention and control, with five major functions including formulating policies for the prevention and control of infectious diseases
Jointly with Qinxian County Museum of Cultural Relics, Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology conducted a rescue excavation of a brick chamber tomb (numbered Tomb M1) at Shangzhuang Village, Zhangyuan Town, Qinxian County, Shanxi Province, in June 2015 (Figure 1). The tomb is located on a hillside that is higher in the west and lower in the east. At the time of excavation, the northwest corner of the tomb top has been destroyed. The brick carvings on the walls of the tomb are well preserved. Below is a brief report of the excavation.

During this investigation, the authors visited some villagers in Zhangbi Village and learned that the heads of the Buddha and Bodhisattva from the lower niche to the west on the boulder were stolen, and their whereabouts are unknown. The authors acquired from the villagers two photographs of the cliff sculptures taken before their heads were stolen,[3] which show their original state. A discussion of the time of the carving, style and motifs of the Dafoshan cliff sculptures, and of the southward migration of the Yungang style indicated by the sculptures, follows.
